We started 2026 by going after one thing: unnecessary friction in workflows.
Too much time in finance still goes to manual tasks. Data entry. Receipt chasing. Cleaning up transactions. It slows teams down. So we built it out of your workflows.
With the new capabilities BILL shipped in January-March, teams now have ~90% fewersteps on data entry, and tighter control over spend, even across international borders.
Here’s what’s new:

The BILL Invoice Coding Agent
Our release of the BILL Invoice Coding Agent is a big leap forward in how our customers handle complex, multi-line bills.
Manual data entry is officially a thing of the past. The agent reads the bill, understands it, and codes it based on your historical patterns and document data.
- 99% accuracy*: The agent extracts key fields like amount, due date, and PO numbers with near-perfect precision.
- ~90% fewer steps**: Compared to a manual process, the agent guts the number of steps needed to code a multi-line item bill.
What it means for you: Less time entering data, and more time actually running your business.

BILL Spend & Expense goes international
Teams don’t operate in one country, so your tools shouldn’t either. We added the first set of international capabilities for BILL Spend & Expense to make it easier to control, track, and spend in foreign currencies.
- Global card shipping: You can now ship physical cards directly to employees in the UK, Canada, and Australia for a flat fee.
- Multi-currency visibility: Users can now view their spend in over 20 currencies (including GBP, EUR, and CAD) directly in the mobile app. Geographic alerts invite you to change currency based on where you land if location services are active.
- Local currency reimbursements: Employees can now submit foreign-currency reimbursement requests in the same currency as the transaction.
What it means for you: Cleaner workflows, seamless local spending, and better visibility.

No more receipt chasing
For finance and accounting teams (and the employees you have to chase), the "small" tasks eat the most time. Tracking down receipts, following up, and cleaning up after the fact. We’ve introduced new features to remove as much of that work as possible.
Auto-generated receipts
In BILL Spend & Expense, admins can now auto-generate receipts when they’re missing or lost, and manually generate a receipt on any transition within BILL. These time savers are helpful for lost/missing receipts and for recurring transactions you’re already familiar with. (The IRS requires receipts directly from the vendor on transactions over $75.)
What it means for you: Less chasing down receipts, easier reconciliation.
Admin-level Gmail controls
The Gmail integration for BILL Spend & Expense automatically pulls emailed receipts from employee inboxes and matches them to cleared card transactions. Admins now have granular control to include or exclude specific employees from automatic receipt matching, providing the perfect balance of automation and privacy.
What it means for you: Faster close and less friction.
Stronger integrations and better reporting
Finance doesn’t live in one system, and your data shouldn’t either. We expanded our ERP integrations, the BILL API Platform, and the reports and records you use every day:
- Comprehensive integrations: We’ve expanded our 2-way direct integrations, including a new integration for Acumatica and enhanced PO syncing for QuickBooks Online.
- Enhanced console reports: For our accounting partners, we’ve added three new AP reports and custom role-based permissions in the Accountant Console.
- Vendor credits: Keep records in sync with new visibility into vendor credits directly within your Payments, Payment Details, and Customer tabs.
- Departments and Locations for your team: You can now add Department and Location dimensions to your People in BILL Spend and Expense.
- API platform expansion: Try our new v3 AR API to accelerate cash flow and improve visibility.
What it means for you: Everything connected and everything aligned.
